Yahaya Bello Officially Declares For 2023 Presidential Race

Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi State, on Saturday officially declared his intention to run for president in the 2023 general election under the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bello made the announcement in Abuja to put an end to speculations regarding his presidential ambition.
Senator Jonathan Zwingina, Femi Fani-Kayode, and others were among those in attendance.
Bello was hailed by Zwingina, during his speech at the ceremony, as a detribalized Nigerian who ruled his state with appointees from other states.
He said, “governor uprooted insecurity from Kogi, the state would have been a breeding ground for kidnapping and banditry, but his leadership skills.”
Yahaya Bello will be seeking to secure the ruling party’s presidential ticket for the 2023 election.
Meanwhile, Bola Tinubu, the party’s National Leader; Rochas Okorocha, the former Governor of Imo State, and Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, have all expressed their intention to run on the ruling party’s platform.
There are also speculations that the minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi might be contesting in the 2023 race and also has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari.
