How To Enter For Ignite Africa Challenge
You will need to begin by registering your team.
To take part in this competition, however, you need to be aware that the submissions will be judged based on how well the teams display the following four qualities:
- Significance: It is important for teams to have a problem that is both particular enough that they can investigate it in some depth and major enough that it has an effect on a wide number of individuals, businesses, and communities.
- Originality and creativity: Teams should propose a solution that is both original and creative, and submissions should present concepts that are either undeveloped or severely underdeveloped in international development research and literature.
- Feasibility: All submissions should be actionable and measurable, and they should also be founded in reality rather than mere theory. Teams are required to present a brief “road map to adoption” that argues for the feasibility of the solution and overcomes any evident impediments. It is highly recommended that teams base their contributions on a particular African nation or geographical area.
- Clarity: When presenting their idea, teams should do it in a way that is both clear and succinct.
After the Proposal Submission, What Next?
A panel of academics and experienced development professionals from public and private sector institutions, in addition to the IGNITE AFRICA team and board, will select the teams who have been chosen to move on to the next round as semi-finalists. Teams who have been chosen will have the option to:
- Choose one of the IGNITE AFRICA Semifinals events to present their ideas at.
- Participate alongside other up-and-coming African leaders in the process of constructing the future they envision for themselves.
- Take advantage of rare opportunities to network with seasoned professionals.
The following are the guidelines for submissions:
- It is necessary to reference all relevant pieces of information.
- The submission needs to be sent in the only language that will be considered, which is English. All entries that were written in a language that was not included in the above list will be ignored.
- Any submissions that do not adhere to the format specifications outlined in the previous paragraph will be rejected.
