Ararume, Izunaso Dump APC For APGA

APGA

Ahead of the 2019 governorship election in Imo State, a leading aspirant, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and the immediate past national organising secretary of the APC, Mr Osita Izunaso, yesterday, had a two-hour meeting with the national chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Victor Oye.

The two politicians, who were in a running battle with Governor Rochas Okorocha, arrived at the party secretariat in Abuja to perfect their formal defection to APGA from APC.

Izunaso told newsmen after the meeting that consultations were still ongoing and that another meeting had been slated for Friday.

“I have already said that after our final meeting, I will talk. I am going to have another meeting on Friday and we will talk after that,” he said.

While Ararume did not address newsmen after the meeting, Daily Trust gathered that the former senator may pick the nomination form to contest for the Imo governorship seat on Friday. His director of Contacts and Mobilisation, Chief Vitalis Ajumbe, told Daily Trust that both Ararume and Izunaso defected to APGA last week in their wards.

Meanwhile, business mogul Mr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who was at the party secretariat yesterday to pick his Anambra South senatorial form, said he would not step down for Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu.
