BREAKING: Heavy Gunshots As Boko Haram Again Attacks Maiduguri

There is currently tension in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state, due to an attack by the Boko Haram sect, TheCable reports.

A resident of Addawari village, Jiddari-Polo area, told the news platform that the insurgents have been shooting since about 5:30pm.

“We have been indoors for the past two hours. Sounds of gunshot every where. We can’t even go out to break our fast,” the resident said.

The level of casualty is yet to be ascertained.

Security agencies have been repelling the activities of the insurgents, urging resident to keep safe in their residences.

However, some residents have been on the run, seeking safety in nearby locations.

Sani Usman, spokesman of the Nigerian Army, has asked residents to keep calm, as the army repels the insurgents.
