Kashim Shettima Kidnapped In Borno
Hundreds of sympathizers, mostly supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), have continued to troop to the residence of the state chairman of the party, Ali Bukar Dalori, over the kidnap of his four-year-old son, who incidentally bears Kashim Shettima as the governor of the state.
The incident, our correspondent gathered, took place on Wednesday during school hours, about 2p.m, when the kidnapper who disguised as one of the family members in Hijab (veil) went to Capital School, near Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri, and asked the school teacher in one of the classes to bring the boy.
The teacher (named withheld) called the child and told him that one of his family members came to pick him home, and after that the boy innocently picked his school back and followed the kidnapper who took him to an unknown destination.
Sources said the mother of the boy and her children recently relocated from one of their apartments in Maiduguri to another apartment near Giwa Barracks before the incident took place.
Confirming the incident, Dalori, in an emotion-laden voice, said his son was abducted, noting that the kidnappers called the mother and linked her to her son (Master Kashim) and they spoke.
Dalori, however, did not disclose the contents of the communication for security reasons, or whether the kidnappers had demanded any ransom from the family for Kashim’s release.
He said that since the kidnappers communicated with his wife, no information had been obtained as the GSM number used to call the family was not reachable at the time of going to press.
He, therefore, solicited prayers from all and sundry for Allah (God) to intervene and safe the life of his boy whom he described as very lovely.
