‘Igbo Youths Will Vote Candidates Who Will Restructure Nigeria’

The National Executive Committee of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths (Worldwide), led by Mr. Kingsley Dozie, has said they would only vote for candidates who would restructure and introduce policies that would improve lives of Nigerians.
Its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Osmond Nkeoma, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Dr Okey Nwachukwu and Deputy National Legal Adviser, Emeka Odom, said this in a statement, in Owerri, on Saturday.
The group, however, said that it was not a political party, but would not endorse any political party or candidate whose mandate would not be restructuring the country.
It said that the apex Igbo cultural group would only seek for and vote government that had policies and programmes that would better not only the lives of Nigerians, but the Ndigbo in particular.
The group called on the public to disregard “the vituperations from fictitious Ohanaeze youths backing the PDP and demanding for the position of vice president from the South East in the 2019 general elections.”
It alleged that the said youths were using the name of Ohanaeze youths for dubious endorsements ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“We did not have any meeting where we discussed on who should be given ticket or not.
“We ask the public to be weary of rumour mongers and dubious elements whose work is to use the name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo youths to dupe, disorientate and endorse unsuspecting Nigerians.
“No meeting was held to discuss on the party vice presidential slot. These elements who parade themselves hide under the media to propagate lies against Igbo youths.
“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths will only vote a candidate who will guarantee Igbo’s welfare and restructure Nigeria and on the basis of personal conviction.
“We never sat to endorse any particular political party nor demand for the position of vice president for any candidate,” it said.
The group called on the public to ignore the position of any other group parading itself as Ohanaeze ndigbo youth group.

There is confusion & real lack of a clear cut direction in the SE. The youths want Biafra, but have no defined strategy for achieving it. Referendum doesn’t fall on your lap, you must follow constitutional procedure for achieving it. Shouting on Facebook or holding protest rallies for the next 100 years, will not bring about referendum or Biafra.
Most youths destroyed their PVCs, they shout Saraki, Atiku, Fayose, Dino, PDP etc, they have no electoral value.
Others proclaim, there will be no election in the SE, not knowing they are making it easier for Buhari to win. In fact, any youth campaigning for election boycott is campaigning for APC/Buhari. Those who back Atiku/PDP on social media, do not have PVCs.
Yet, a huge chunk of SE society don’t care about secession. These include Igbo elders, leaders, educated elites, business class & elected politicians, that have no motivation to support the rebellious youths, who do not respect them.
In reality, the SE is singing discordant tunes that are at cross purposes to each other. Ohaneze Ndigbo, MASSOB, BZM, IPOB- all claim to lead the same people in different directions, under different leaderships.
Are they likely to speak with one voice anytime soon? Unlikely, given the wide gap between the youths & other segments of powerful Igbo leadership.

On Dangote Police Cars:(buhari has turn nigeria into fulani company)??
Something has bothered me. Policemen riding in Dangote vehicles.
I saw them in Owerri. They are all over Lagos. They are everywhere in Abuja. They are all over Kano.
How can we let a man sponsor the police?
I have thought about it. Yes the police are poorly funded. And they have no functional vehicles. So can’t we just let those who have money donate money and cars to the police?
Well, that makes sense.
But what about stretching it further. So we let one man build and brand Judiciary courts. And we let another build and brand Nigerian prisons and we let another buy dresses for the DSS and leave his company’s logo on them.
The police service is not the Red Cross or Boys’ Brigade. It is the soul of the state. How can the police that ride in Dangote’s vehicles contain Aliko Dangote and his company?
The very idea of private sponsorship of the police corrupts the understanding of the average policeman. If the police can accept cars from Dangote, then a DPO can accept a cash gift from an Alaba trader to fuel them.
Where then shall we stop?
Certain things should be preserved. The criminal justice system must be protected from genuine and dubious philanthropy. They damage public faith in the neutrality and professionalism of those institutions.
Dangote can donate cars and machines to hospitals. There are a million avenues to dispose trillions of dollars of charity in this country.
Imagine Bill Gates funding the FBI.
If Dangote is bothered about security then he can strike a deal with the government. He can fund the teaching hospitals and ask the government to give the money due teaching hospitals to the police.
What else do you want me to say?
The Dangote inscriptions on Police vehicles that litter this country makes her a Banana Republic. No, a pawpaw Republic. Why must his name be inscribed on them?
Imagine rushing into a police station to report a case against Dangote. And the only vehicle available for the arrest is a brand new Police Chinese car with the name of Dangote written all over it.
Who knows? Tomorrow it could be the turn of the Army. And you will see names of individual businessmen on their battle tanks.
How did Nigeria get to this sorry state. How hasn’t this ridiculous picture pricked the government?
