Kano Rerun: PDP Rejects Election Result
The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday rejected the results of the supplementary election held in the state on Saturday.
ORIENTAL TIMES had reported that Governor Umar Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of the controversial Kano State governorship election.
Ganduje won with a margin of less than 9,000 votes after the collation of figures for the supplementary elections held on March 23, 2019.
Speaking to newsmen after the collation, acting chairman of the party Rabi’u Sulaiman Bichi said “the results were doctored as there was no election on Saturday.
“We shall not endorse the results.”
Also speaking, member representing Dala federal constituency Honourable Ali Madakin Gini observed that the affected Gama Ward in Nasarawa local government witnessed violence.
He also alleged that thugs denied PDP members their right to vote.
