Fulani Herdsmen Invade Delta Community, Kill One, Another Injured
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have invaded Okueke, a farm settlement in Amoji community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, killing a farmer, Mr. Sunday Ezeugo and inflicting bullet wounds on one other person.
Two motorcycles and a bicycle were also set ablaze during the attack which lasted for several hours in the area.
Speaking yesterday on the development, Spokesman of Amoji Development Union, Mr. Precious Enebeli told Saturday Vanguard that the herdsmen stormed the farm settlement on Wednesday and started shooting at random.
“They chased the farmers from the farm settlement and later proceeded into the community and continued shooting. The people then started running out of the community.
“After the herdsmen had left, it was discovered that Sunday Ezeugo aka Sparco was missing. On Thursday, the people now went to look for him and he was found dead in a bush around the community,” he said.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka said the deceased was murdered with cuts.
He said: “The people are asking that the corpse be released to them for burial. Autopsy has been done and we are looking for the criminals who committed the murder.”
