BREAKING: PSG Sign Former Man Utd Midfielder Herrera On 5-Year Deal
Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United, the French champions announced on Thursday.
The 29-year-old has signed a five-year contract which will keep him at the club until June 2024.
The Spanish star left Old Trafford this summer after being unable to agree new terms with the club and feeling as if the club took too long in opening talks on a new deal.
Herrera spent five seasons at the club, winning the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League during that time, and established himself as a fan favourite thanks to combative style and leadership qualities on the pitch.
“This is a sad moment to be honest, because I’ve enjoyed the past five years with this club,” the 29-year-old told United’s official website upon his departure.
“I want to thank the fans for all they have done for me. I will never forget the way I have been treated by the fans, whether I’ve been playing or whether I’ve been somewhere else. As soon as you give everything for the club, they will support you and love you and I’ve found that.”
