Again, South Africa’s Zuma Survives Vote Of No-Confidence

South African President, Jacob Zuma has survived another no-confidence vote.

Following a two-hour debate and lengthy voting process on Tuesday, 198 MPs voted against the Democratic Alliance’s bid to remove Zuma, while only 177 voted in support of the vote of no confidence.

About 30 ANC MPs voted for Zuma to be removed.

Nine lawmakers abstained from the process.

The anti-Zuma coalition did not get a majority to remove the president.

Zuma has now survived eight no-confidence votes in his eight years in office.
