Group Set To Declare Bendel Republic, List Proposed Tribes
A group, Midwest Movement, has threatened to declare Bendel Republic if the leadership of the country fails to play its constitutional role and entrench true federalism.
The group listed the proposed states made up of Edo and Delta in 12 tribes as:
Akoko-Edo, Esan, Benin, Etsako, Owan, Anioma, Ika, Ndokwa, Urhobo, Isoko, Ijaw and Itsekiri.
The movement warned that should government continue to play the ostrich with the current agitations for restructuring, the Midwest region will resist all attempts to annex, attach or conscript it as part or any part of its near or far neighbours.
Dr. Don Obaseki, Convener of the movement, in an eight-point demand in Benin, the Edo State capital yesterday, said the group was deeply concerned about the situation in the country, adding that “the federation of Nigeria is in dire crisis due to injustice, marginalisation and flagrant violation of the terms agreed upon by its founding fathers.”

why anioma and ika?are they tribes of their own or igbos?count them out of ur republic.did they stay aside like u during the biafran war?common sense to let u know exactly who they are.they are biafrans. u call include any other group in ur bendel republic but never include any section of igboland.i wish u the best in ur new dreams any way.

Good idea,,Any group that want to exist alone after Biafra actualisation are free to determine there faith…Both Biafra,Bendel republic, Niger delta republic can either decide to stay as one Biafra or better still go there way we ain’t bothered…
