We’ve A New Strategy That Will Force Boko Haram To Surrender – Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army has disclosed it has a new strategy in place that guarantees the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists will surrender and stop its activities.
This was disclosed by the acting General Commanding Officer of 7 Division of the Nigeria Army, Brig.-General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim.
He said this yesterday during his first operational tour to frontlines in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
In his words, “I am just coming to the theatre and I am coming at the time when we have a change in our strategy. We are changing approach because we don’t want to lose equipment to insurgents again.
“Looking at this concept, we are confident we should be able to take the fight to them, we should have greater mobility over them and our ultimate aim is to force them to surrender, we should be able to strangulate them,” he said.
It would be recalled that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had always maintained that the Boko Haram terrorists have been technically defeated.
The sect is further accused of only targeting soft targets to maintain relevance in the face of defeat.
