PHOTOS: Another Petrol Tanker Catches Fire In Onitsha

A petrol tanker carrying 15,000 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) broke down and caught fire at Isiokwe Junction by MCC, Onitsha in Anambra state.

According to reports, the petrol tanker caught fire during the early hours of this morning (2am, Friday, 17th January 2020) after it reportedly experienced mechanical fault in Onitsha.

Anambra State Fire Service Department firefighters including the State Fire Director, Martin Agbili were said to have promptly arrived the scene of the incident, following an SOS calls to them.

They were able to put out the fire before any potential disaster could occur. No causualties were reported according to the news media.

Recall that in 2019, a petrol tanker exploded and burnt down Ochanja market in Onitsha, leading to loss of lives and properties.
