Imo: ‘You Are No Longer An Orphan’ — Oshiomhole Tells S’East APC

Following the Supreme Court judgement that declared the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate in Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma as duly-elected governor, National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said the South-East caucus of the party has ceased to be “an orphan”.

Oshiomhole stated this at Uzodinma’s swearing-in while congratulating leaders of the caucus, Chairman of Anambra State APC, Chief Basil Ejidike said.

Before Tuesday’s judgement, the South East was the only geopolitical zone in the country without an APC governor.

“The National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, who had arrived a few minutes earlier, on sighting me said, Congratulations, you are no longer an orphan.

“For which I, in turn, declared before members of the National Working Committee that after Imo, Anambra would be the next State to join the party’s fold comes 2021,” Ejidike told Daily Trust.

The Anambra party chairman explained that the APC would take over the state in the governorship election in 2021 because the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has underperformed.

Uzodinma was declared winner after the apex court sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a judgement the party described as “accursed” and “loathsome”.
