70% Of Things In The Bible Are Human Opinion — Bishop Obinim
The leader and founder of International Godsway church Bishop Angel Daniel Obinim has once again sparked another controversy on social media.
The popular Ghanaian pastor stated that about 70% of all the things contained in the bible are not actually from God but are just the mere opinions of some humans.
Speaking with his congregation on 4th February at the Tema branch of his church in Ghana, Angel Obinim explained that Bible is made up of two-part “human opinion and God’s words” but the human opinion takes 70% while God’s words are few.
“Some of you who shiver when you hear Bible says, Bible says Bible says, you have to ask which part of the Bible and who is the one saying it. Habbakuk, Paul, 1st John, 2nd John etc were peoples’ mind not God’s word.” he said.
The controversial preacher explained that he hardly reads the bible and when he does that then he has been instructed by his colleagues’ angels to read a particular verse.
His defense comes barely a week after he was sighted in a video quoting a wrong bible verse.
In a video sighted last week, the man of God is heard quoting a verse from the Bible and claimed it was from Exodus 2: 22-23 but checks from the Bible show that what Obinim was saying couldn’t be found in the said verse.
Exodus 2: 22-23 reads ”Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom saying, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land. During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God”
It came out that the actual quotation Angel Obinim was quoting from was rather Isaiah 49:15-16 which also reads “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands your walls are ever before me”.
