Osimhen Beats Moses Simon To Win The Marc-Vivien Foe Prize

Nigerian Forward, Victor Osimhen has won the annual Marc-Vivien Foe award in the French Ligue 1.

The Marc-Vivien Foe is a French annual award for the best African player in the league 1.

The Lile star saw off competitions from fellow compatriot Moses Simon who plays for Nantes, Denis Bouanga from Saint Etienne, Mbaye Niang, Hamari Traore and Edouard Mend all from Renne, Andy Delort from Montpellier and Islam Slimani from Monaco.

Osimhen won this award after votes from Jury consisting of African sports journalist who were impressed with the young stars’ performance since joining the French club.

Osimhen was a replacement for Ivorian star Nicolas Pepe who was sold to Arsenal and Victor has impressed since joining from Belgian club Sporting Charleroi.

He has so far scored 18 goals and had 6 assists for Lile in all competitions before the French League was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
