2019: Kalu Backs Buhari’s Second Term Bid, Declares Interest In Senate Seat

orji uzor kalu

Former governor of Abia State and eminent businessman, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has thrown his weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term.

This was even as he has declared interest to run for Abia North senatorial seat in 2019.

Kalu, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed this to newsmen on the sidelines of the maiden Igbere Cultural Carnival at the weekend at his Camp Neya countryhome, venue of the carnival.

The former governor said he is vying for the Senate seat because past representatives were concerned about self aggrandisement rather than initiating and pushing policies that would be in the interest of the people.

Kalu recalled how he transformed the state during his tenure as governor and stated that his decision to vie for the Senate is to ensure he brings democracy dividends to the people of Abia North.

The former governor said he would not only bring his wealth of political experience to bear if he is elected, but would also ensure he uses his connection with the present administration to draw the presence of the Federal Government to Abia North senatorial district.

He also praised president Buhari for the ongoing rehabilitation of Umuahia-Uzoakoli-Ohafia, Ozuitem-Igbere and Nkpa and other roads in Abia North, through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Kalu said he is sure that the president means well for the state and the South East at large.

The former Abia state governor hailed Buhari for the successes he has recorded and the reforms his administration has introduced since coming to power.

He also seized the opportunity to state his commitment towards ensuring the re-election of Buhari in 2019.

This was just as he commended the president for being committed in his fight against corruption, insurgency and also seeing that the country came out of recession within two years of his administration.

“OUK will go the Senate and stay in Senate and I will support president Muhammdau Buhari’s reelection because the surest way an Igbo man can become the president of this country is 2023.

“If Buhari is not re-elected, it means that an Igbo president will not be feasible in 2023; it doesn’t matter if they say we are selfish,” Kalu said.

Thunder will strike and kill Orji Uzor Kalu. He is part of the problem that the Igbos face. Buhari will do the Igbos a big favor by locking this criminal up for 10 years.

I used to think Nigeria is a strong nation made of
strong people but was wrong. There’s no
consequence for doing evil when one is called the
president. Once you are ready to cause civil war if
power or any of your demand is not given to you,
your request is not only met but you are dreaded
and worshipped by many. I never believed
somebody can be given power by making another
govt ungovernable. Some became governors by
soaking bamboos and chimpanzees in blood. We
would have been erased if not for the super Niger
Delta boys. This is the only force the north
respects. Every other region has been disgraced.

I can’t believe what some ibo men do.
This is simply to tell us one thing. They’re all business men working towards a common end. To facilitate their businesses to the detriment of the poor man.
Now the poor of the North and the East will be killing themselves for the rich of the North and the East. Instead of coming together and using the advantages of numbers that they have to flush the rich and capitalists out.
Nigerian youth is a shame and an open disgrace that they do not even know.
But i must commend the Biafran youth for coming out to make a statement. If they persist like the way they started the fulani FG will have to stand up.
I hail Nnamdi Kanu for his courage and stand.
Nigeria is an “open sore of a continent” as rightly put by Prof. Wole Soyinka.
A country where all you meet along the way is deception and negativity.
I can’t believe that buhari is making known his intention to run again, at his age coupled with all his failure and his intense knowledge of his desperate inability to do any single thing. Even more horrifying is the fact that people are still endorsing and supporting him in this very same Nigeria. A country where the truth is the youth has no hope, just wakaring about. Unless you become a scammer, a ritualist, either by being used homosexually by an alhaji or you use another man’s blood, you won’t eat. You just have to do something terrible in order only to feed. What manner of a country is that again? Nigeria has always been a terrible country but buhari has come and made it a definition of terror.

Thats animalistic nature of the so called lgbo leaders. Buhari who only engaged his Northern people in key positions of FG’s appointments, especially in Security Chiefs, yet resisting every move 4 restructure, now Northerners who hardly reject their own 4 any reason, now backing out on buhari 4 lack of positive result in our economy n democracy dividents, here, lgbos (Kalu n Okorocha esp) being nuisance in the name of expecting 2 be President in 2023 n compromising our today.
    GOD WILL SURELY DISAPPOINT THEM
