Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe, a popular Ghanaian actress, has revealed that she would never give her blessing to any of her children who decides to marry a Christian. It was during a recent interview with Zionfelix on the set of her new film, "Zongo Boys," that the devout Muslim, who is married to Ghanaian ex-football international Anthony Baffoe, made the declaration. Kalsoume Sinare played the role of a Muslim mother who did not approve of her daughter’s relationship with a man from a Christian background – an antiquated ethnical practice that impedes a harmonious relationship. When asked why she chose to focus her script on a subject that had the potential to spark religious conflict, she explained that her decision was based on her personal understanding of Islamic teaching. According to Kalsoume, the decision not to allow her child to marry a Christian is a tough one but not something she would rescind to. Anthony Baffoe, her husband, was a Christian before converting to Islam shortly before their marriage. However, she was quick to point out that her husband did not convert to Christianity because of his feelings for her, and that converting was not a condition for her to get married to him. She said it was a personal choice he made. Her statement has been greeted with mixed reactions from social media users who have chided her grievously. See the video below.
