BREAKING: National Assembly Passes 2017 Budget

Premium Times had earlier reported that the House of Representatives passed the 2017 budget in the green chambers.
The lower house of legislature adopted the report by its House committee on appropriation and approved a total sum of ₦7. 44 trillion.
After an executive session that lasted almost an hour, the senate on its part, considered the report by its own appropriations committee led by Senator Danjuma Goje.
The Senate dissolved into the Committee of Supply to consider the report clause by clause and passed the budget.

The 2017 appropriation report was laid before the upper house of legislature by chairman of the senate committee on appropriations Senator Goje during plenary on Tuesday.
The budget had been expected to be passed last week, before Friday, May 5, when the 2016 budget officially expired but was stepped down by the upper house of legislature.
