Legendary Country Music Singer Don Williams, Dies At 78
Country music star and Hall of Fame member, Don Williams, has passed away at the age of 78.
Williams reportedly died after a short illness.
The Tulsa Time singer played his final tour in 2006 and in 2010 was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
In 1991, every single he released hit the Top 40 Billboard County charts.
He returned to the spotlight in 2012 with a new album, And So It Goes, and in 2014 with Reflections, which included contributions from stars Keith Urban, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.
American singer-songwriter, Shooter Jennings took to Twitter, after news of Don’s death broke to pay tribute.
He wrote: “Sad about Don Williams but Troy Gentry was my friend. I had great times with him. I’m stunned, angry and upset at the moment. I’ll miss you.”
Country music star Travis Tritt also paid tribute.
“So sad to hear that “Gentle Giant” Don Williams has died! What an incredible legacy of great music he leaves behind. May he RIP,” he tweeted.

Woooooowww.. The legend goes home legendarily. Listen to the radio… Oh listen to the radio. Let’s spend the night together baby don’t go, they singing on the radio.. The world will miss you and your brand of music. I remember my dad always singing in his study, the rodeo man… She won’t sit down at your table, and I know that you can’t hold her hand. She won’t go home with you cowboy, she is in love with a rodeo man. Great songs
