Senator Frank Ibezim And Imo North Senatorial District

By Sampson Uhuegbu, Owerri
Okigwe Senatorial District has personalities that are doing excellently well in their various areas of callings. In as much as these politicians came from the six Local Government Areas of the zone, they are deemed to be brothers and sisters of same political enclave. This is because what binds them together is that mutuality of purpose and the understanding that could be described as a united entity that unites them to achieve a common cause for the development of the zone for which they are desiring.
I am a preacher of peace because it paves way for rapid development and advancement of a particular a political family, organization and group that have same ideaology and vision to cause a positive change. We have realized that lack of peace and unity harm a dreams; Irrespective of political party affiliations in the Imo North Senatorial District- be it People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP), Accord Party (AP) and other parties. There is need to sheath swords now that Distinguished Senator Ibezim has assumed position as the Lawmaker for Imo North Senatorial District in the Senate.
Have you forgotten that people of Okigwe had been known for being peaceful and collected even in times of challenges, trials and tribulations befell it. This was replicated in the life of the late former Senator of Okigwe zone, Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu. He was a gentle and peaceful man that never gave chance to disunity during his short time on earth as a legislator.
I have been keenly watching Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim and got to realized that he is a perfect gentleman, a leader with a broad mind and ready to accommodate everybody without considering political beliefs or social status.Ibezim can best be described as a beautiful bride to every political party in Okigwe- just because he is humble, intelligent, jovial, social and incapable of hurting or hating anybody that might have consciously or unconsciously wronged him. Also, he does not keep malice.
Presently, the contributions of the prominent sons of Okigwe extraction are needed in terms of supporting the Distinguished Senator Frank Ibezim to reform Imo North Senatorial District of everybody’s dreams and cartering for their welfare. Politicking is a countinous game which is supposed to be devoid of a do- or- die interest of which I suppose, could be an impediment to the development Okigwe North and South Federal constituents are clamouring for.
Senator Ibezim is focused, pragmatic, result- oriented and a servant leader- but let me enjoin him through this medium to run an all- inclusive representation in the red Chambers of the National Assembly. Having been tasted and proven to have possessed leadership qualities, as demonstrated in the past posts he had held, Senator Ibezim should bring to bear on his wealth of experience so as give his detractors ( if there is any), a benefits of doubt that he would definitely deliver on the expectations of the good people of Okigwe, Onuimo, Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, Ihitte-Uboma and Obowo Council Areas.
Gone were days when trade blames and criticisms are allowed to violate an effort that is geared towards moving Imo North to higher heights. Senator Ibezim should bear in mind that he is now a father to not only members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC; but to other party faithfuls. Even those that might have committed political sins should be forgiven and accommodated into the moving train just for the sake of Okigwe zone.
Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume is one of the sons of Okigwe zone that I love so much; and I appreciate his doggedness in fighting politically and his courageousness too.
Therefore, this is time to support his brother, Senator Frank Ibezim to continue pilotting the affairs of the zone without hitches from any quarters. Distinguished Senator Ibezim and Senator Araraume are brothers from same “Mbano”. After all, Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano are brothers from same mother and being given birth to.
Thus, love and unity should be radiating among citizens from these two Local Government Areas. Interestingly, if Okigwe gets better today, it is for the benefits of every sons and daughters of the area. Has it escaped our memories that Okigwe zone needs infrastructural maintenance, Youths empowerments, Accountability, transparency, quality health care delivery, sustainable economic growth, good roads network, sincerity on Constituency projects funds and ability to responsibly manage human and capital resources naturally endowed on the zone. Our leaders are aware that Okigwe is in dare need of the above-mentioned gains of effective representation rather than recycling of leaders; a system which has never contributed nothing to the desired growth of Imo North Senatorial District (Okigwe zone).
Clearly, what Senator Frank Chukwuma Ibezim deserves now is backing of Tom, Diick and Harry in Okigwe zone. He should be allowed to concentrate on delivering the purpose for which he was elected by his people in into the Senate. Therefore, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Ikedi Ohakim, Chikwem Onuoha, Emmanuel Okewulonu, Chike Okafor, Matthew Omegara, Prof. Nnamdi Obiariaeri, Chief Anthony Chukwu, Sir Bright Nwelue, Mark Uchendu, Hon.Princess Miriam Onuoha, Former Sen. Bright Nwanne and others, should join hands with their brother, Sen. Frank Ibezim to continue in his representation of giving Okigwe zone the best in the Senate.
Their individual and collective contributions to develope Okigwe is a complement to the vision the Senator has in mind for the people of the Imo North Senatorial District. They should work hand in globe to give their best to the people of Okigwe zone who are only aspiring for better days ahead from their sons elected into various positions- be it Councillorship, Local Government Chairmanship, State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Governorship and Senatorial positions.
Okigwe should be made to develope like other political units of the three Hundred and Sixty (360) Senatorial Districts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. However, rallying support for Sen. Frank Ibezim fastrack transformation and possible change they are clamouring for over the years. It is clearly on record that Senators Echeruo (of a blessed memory), Bright Nwanne, Ifeanyi Araraume, Matthew Nwagwu, Benjamin Uwajumogu (May his soul rest in peace) had come, served in their capacities and left office- leaving Ndi Okigwe to pass a judgment on their outings while on seat during their representations in the Senate.
Furthermore, political office holders and stakeholders in Okigwe should as a matter of oneness, partner with Senator Frank Ibezim on ways to move the district forward because no Senator succeds under pressure or unnecessary attacks from agrieved persons or political foes. But when grievances are packaged, peace would now come in and take its cause which now subdues underdevelopment and address other unforseen challenges before the hard-working and hospitable people of Imo North Senatorial District.
