Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Manchester United forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has undergone successful knee surgery.

The 35-year-old former Sweden captain was superb for the Red Devils this season, scoring 17 goals in 28 Premier League appearances.

His agent, Mino Raiola said, “He will make a full recovery and has not suffered a career-ending injury.

“The procedure was performed by Freddie Fu, M.D., and Volker Musahl, M.D., of the UPMC Sports Medicine program in Pittsburgh.

“Zlatan has started rehabilitation at UPMC and will remain under the care of Dr. Fu and Dr. Musahl throughout his recovery.”

Ibrahimovic also posted a hopeful message to Instagram last week via his twitter handle, iamzlatanibrahimovic saying, “First of all, thank you for all the support and love. Its no news I got injured so I will be out of fotball for a while.

“I will go through this like everythings else and come back even stronger. So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem.

“One thing is for sure, I decide when its time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option. See you soon.”

The striker suffered the injury earlier in April.
